Originally, when I started this business, I was in the process of finishing my degree and pursuing my BSN. A lot of life has happened and I made the decision to hold off. I refocused my attention to growing and learning as much as I possibly could about the science of sourdough and the art of baking. I have met so many incredible people from all over. For 2 years I worked nearly 7 days a week. Three 12-hour shifts at the hospital and then 3-4 days prepping, mixing, baking, market days, and clean up. After I had my daughter, I jumped back to the Market life because I just absolutely craved those early Saturday mornings with my family and each of you. The one thing that I wanted more than anything was to do it all…but that is just not possible…not without incredible sacrifice.
For those that do not know, I first began as a volunteer firefighter and PCF. I then became an EMT and worked Advanced Life Support on the ambulance. Then I transitioned to working as a critical care tech in SICU/CVICU. The pandemic happened and a lot shifted and changed. Now I have the opportunity to potentially go into an accelerated program to become an RN. With that being said I am taking a large step back from large scaled production, BUT I will still be baking and running my business! After the @westcoastbreadfest I met many incredible bakers one being @wildflourculture. She encouraged me and reminded me that I can do both nursing and make sourdough. She reminded me why I love working in healthcare so much. I LOVE caring for patients. I also LOVE providing a sourdough product that nourishes the entire mind, body, and soul. I am so grateful to know I have such an incredible support system and love that I get to pursue my dreams of becoming a Nurse while also making sourdough for each of you. This is not goodbye! I will still share updates, and plan to have my official website posted this month for when I do have small bakes! In the meantime any prayers, encouragement, and kind thoughts are welcomed.
